Special Guests

We'll be rolling out our list of guests and performers over the coming weeks.

Pat Postiglione is a former cold case detective who served on Nashville's homicide unit for more than 25 years. A native New Yorker, he moved to Nashville in 1980 to join the Metro Nashville Police Department. He worked on what was then known as the "murder squad" — a team of detectives trying to solve cases with no known suspects. Pat will be interviewed by WPLN's Emily Siner of Movers & Thinkers at Podcast Party.

Destiny Birdsong is a Louisiana-born poet, essayist, and editor who lives and writes in Nashville. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in African American Review, The Adroit Journal, Muzzle and elsewhere. Destiny has won the Academy of American Poets Prize, Naugatuck River Review’s 2016 Poetry Contest and Meridian’s 2017 “Borders” Contest in Poetry. She's a frequent guest poet on the Versify podcast and will write a poem based on a storyteller's life at Podcast Party.

Matt Lovell is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter. In the midst of production for his forthcoming full-length album, he survived a near-fatal gunshot wound as the victim of an attempted carjacking in East Nashville, an experience he recounted on the Neighbors podcast. His debut singles, “Nobody Cries Today” and “Guide Your Light,” are available now, and his record will be released in the coming months. Matt will perform a song inspired by his experiences at Podcast Party.

Katherine "Tisha" Wilson is a mother of three who is known for her insane workout ethic and her ability to juggle life’s challenges. From dropping out of high school to finishing up her Ph.D., she has been able to change her life physically and mentally, a story she shared with the Neighbors podcast. She now inspires others through physical fitness and motivational classes, helping others find their inner strength and courage. She'll give the audience a taste of that empowerment at Podcast Party.

Dana Samborski is a New England-born puppeteer. A classically trained designer, writer and performer, Dana now spends his days working on high-end animatronics in Nashville. He and his crew of amazing local puppeteers performed a live puppet performance of Curious Nashville at last year's Podcast Party, and he is excited and honored to be creating a new show this year.

Aleta Myles started acting professionally in 2009 with her role as Timoune in Street Theatre’s Once on This Island. Since then, the Cincinnati native has worked with the Nashville Rep Theatre, Nashville Children’s Theatre, Verge Theatre, Studio Tenn and Tennessee Theatre Women’s Project. When she is not on stage, she is creating online content for AletaMylesTV. She is one of the hosts of the Moth's monthly StorySLAM in Nashville, and she'll be telling a story for the Versify podcast at Podcast Party.

Big Man (Dexter Turner) is a husband, father of two and resident of the James Cayce Homes in East Nashville. His story was featured in the podcast The Promise, which explored the issues of public housing in Nashville. He will speak with the host of that show, Meribah Knight, during Podcast Party.
