Listeners to 90.3 WPLN-FM and 1430 WPLN-AM will hear a few program changes happening soon, and we wanted to give you advance notice.
Beginning Monday, July 9, WPLN-FM will broadcast 1A on weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Host Joshua Johnson brings unflappable energy and warmth to the anchor chair, and he’s backed by a strong production team at WAMU in Washington, D.C. And if you’re wondering — the name of this daily news show was inspired by the First Amendment and a newspaper’s front page.
As a result of this change, WBUR’s On Point will leave our schedule.
We will also be saying goodbye to Marketplace Weekend at 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The show is ending production. In its place, we will present a rebroadcast of WNYC’s Freakonomics Radio, a show that uses the tools of economics to explore real world behavior.
Meanwhile, on 1430-AM, we’re adding an additional hour of Morning Edition — until to 11 a.m. — and welcoming the BBC Newshour to 3 p.m. weekdays.
You may also hear slight tweaks to the weekend schedules. Please be sure to check our program schedules online.
Thanks for listening and supporting Nashville Public Radio.
