March Music Madness 2019: Round 3 Voting

What to look for in Round 3:

Now that we've whittled down the contests, the pairings are less related to each other than before. Whereas in the first round, pieces were deliberately connected, now they are sometimes centuries apart. This phenomenon is likely the most noticeable in the top-left of the bracket where Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 is up against Gershwin's ballet An American In Paris. It's hard to imagine two more different pieces, and both of these dominated their second round votes.

Florence Price's Symphony No. 1 is not to be underestimated as it has knocked Dvorak's 9th out of the running. But, it is facing Holst's The Planets, which has been a popular winner chosen in many brackets that have been sent in by listeners.
