Nashville Spotlight: May 6-12

May 6, 2019

A selection of events from the Arts Calendar that caught our eye this week.

Black Violin: Impossible Tour

Hip-hop/classical crossover duo Black Violin makes Nashville a stop on their Impossible tour. Each of these high-energy concerts focus on themes of positivity and encouragement.

OZ Arts: Papalagui Exposed

An evening of dance theater created by Windship Boyd. OZ's grounds will be open in the manner of a 19th century exposition, exploring western culture's obsession with wealth.

Nashville Opera: The Cradle Will Rock

Mark Blitzstein's subversive operetta, which was a product of the Federal Theater Project in 1937. The theme of corruption within the labor movement was such a hot button issue that the piece was banned by the government before it opened.
